Omnissa debuts AI agents for IT, a managed cloud PC service and Elara for AI governance
Digital workspace company Omnissa LLC today unveiled new artificial intelligence agents for information technology teams and virtual desktop users, a managed cloud PC service and an AI governance product named Omnissa Elara.
The releases, announced at the company’s Omnissa ONE 2026 conference in Orlando, go after a problem itsays is getting worse as employees adopt AI tools faster than their IT departments can approve them. Usage of AI assistant apps across enterprise endpoints grew nearly 1,000% in 2025, according to the company’s State of Digital Workspace 2026 report, with roughly three-quarters of it coming from unsanctioned tools.
Omnissa Chief Product Officer Bharath Rangarajan said AI “is compressing the distance between insight and action.” Companies have to be able to see and control what AI is doing before they hand it more autonomy, he said.
Three of the new agents are built for IT administrators. Troubleshooting falls to the Digital Employee Experience agent, which traces a worker’s problem to its root cause and recommends a fix based on existing playbooks or earlier Workspace ONE Assist support sessions.
he Windows App Lifecycle agent takes on application packaging, still largely manual work, and tests each app before an administrator reviews it. The third works with Workspace ONE Vulnerability Defense, a vulnerability remediation product Omnissa launched last year.
Inside Vulnerability Defense, the agent ranks vulnerabilities by priority and prepares patches, with a human kept in the loop before deployment. Large language models are speeding up the discovery of flaws, Omnissa said, and the time to exploit one has dropped below a day, so the agent is meant to help IT teams patch fast enough to keep up.
Beyond its own agents, Omnissa is opening its platform to outside ones. Administrators can connect the agent tool of their choice through a new hosted server built on the Model Context Protocol, and what that tool can reach is limited by the administrator’s existing role and permissions.
On the virtual desktop side, Horizon Delegate runs inside an employee’s Horizon virtual machine and carries out tasks under that worker’s approved identity and permissions. The work can keep going after the employee disconnects. The other desktop announcement is Omnissa Cloud PC, a desktop-as-a-service offering the company runs itself. The service includes the underlying compute, plus Omnissa’s endpoint management and digital employee experience tools.
Elara covers the governance side of today’s announcements. Omnissa is pitching it as “the authority layer” for AI governance and high-impact enterprise actions. The product pulls in signals from systems that normally run separately, so IT and security leaders can see how AI apps, models and agents are being used. Policies set against broader business conditions can then be applied before an action with real consequences goes through.
“Autonomously managing, securing and monitoring the end-user workspace is now a requirement for enterprise IT, as AI takes on more responsibility across the business,” said Phil Hochmuth, research vice president for endpoint management and enterprise mobility at International Data Corp. “IT leaders need clear visibility into human and AI-driven activity, along with the controls to govern actions at machine speed.”
Omnissa did not give availability dates for the new products. Cloud PC will run first on Amazon Web Services Inc., with other cloud providers to follow. Omnissa was spun out of VMware Inc. in 2024, after Broadcom Inc. acquired VMware and sold its end-user computing business to KKR & Co. Inc. for $4 billion.
