Nvidia RTX 5090 supply crunch triggers price hikes and production cuts
Nvidia’s RTX 5090 GPU is facing severe supply constraints, with laptop manufacturer XMG raising prices by €250 for models equipped with the chip. Board partners report difficulties securing components, and a cooler manufacturer has no orders for RTX 5090 heatsinks through Q2 2027. The shortages stem from limited availability of 3GB GDDR7 VRAM modules, which are critical for the GPU’s production.
