South Africa’s state-owned Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) is advancing toward a ₹5,400 crore acquisition of ArcelorMittal South Africa, a subsidiary of ArcelorMittal controlled by Lakshmi Mittal and Aditya Mittal. The deal, aimed at preserving steelmaking capacity and jobs, includes ₹1,620 crore in cash and the assumption of ₹3,780 crore in debt.
