Marvell Technology Inc. has agreed to acquire Lumentum Holdings Inc., a specialist in high-speed optical components, in an all-stock deal valued at $115 billion. The transaction, one of the largest in the technology sector for 2026, aims to merge Marvell’s semiconductor design expertise with Lumentum’s optical technology to dominate the AI data centre market. Investor response has been sharply negative, erasing nearly a third of Marvell’s market value since deal talks emerged.
